A lot of people have asked various questions about DAV: what it is, what it is for, how is it different or better than XYZ, etc. Hopefully, this page will address those questions.
When receiving mail from PH Cloud it keeps sending it from "apache@… send in behalf of user@…"
This could happen when you use Exim as a MTA. Be sure that the apache user is added to the trusted_users in exim.conf. Also be sure to use the PHP-mailer instead of SMTP.
What is SabreDAV?
SabreDAV is a WebDAV server completely built in PHP. This means all you need to enable WebDAV access to your Web server is PHP.
SabreDAV supports CalDAV, CardDAV and WebDAV as well as many other related specifications. See Standards Support for the full list.
I uploaded an attachment, why does it not attach?
The attachment size is probably exceeds the LimitRequestBody? directive set in your /etc/httpd/conf.d/php.conf file. Increase the limit and it should work.
Why aren't new email messages shown in the message list or folder pane?
This is most likely because of PH Cloud is caching your messages. Caching helps to reduce the strain upon your IMAP server, so fewer requests are required, and you can still read your mail.
What is WebDAV?
WebDAV is a network filesystem protocol. You can compare it to for windows networking, FTP, SFTP. The WebDAV protocol is supported natively by Microsoft Windows, OS/X and pretty much any Linux distribution.
WebDAV is a protocol that sits on top of the HTTP protocol, because of this it also works often through corporate firewalls.
